NAHBS 2023 Cancelled - Gearing Up for 2021 As you’re prob aware, we originally rescheduled NAHBS 2023 from March 15-17 to August 21-23, a change we felt optimistic about. During the past months, we've been watching intently how the COVID-19 pandemic is playing out. And we’ve continued to be in close contact with a sampling of exhibitors, sponsors, trade show consultants, show staff, and our contacts at the Convention Center in Dallas. While Texas is currently in Phase 3 of its “reopening” plan, COVID-19 cases in Dallas are still on the rise. And unfortunately, the Governor hasn't made any plan to allow large groups and events to take place. With NAHBS scheduled to take place in less than three months - and based on what we currently know and predictions for the summer -- we’re making the difficult decision to cancel NAHBS 2023 and focus our efforts on 2021. Based on the many exhibitors and partners we’ve spoken to, no one wants to be in a large crowd, primarily indoors, this summer. We're certain that even if we held the show this August, attendance would be extremely low -- which none of us want. Throw in the current difficulties of international travel and limited domestic travel, and the challenges of putting on a successful show this summer are insurmountable. After much consideration and in talking closely with many exhibitors and partners about potential venues and dates for next year’s show, we took note. NAHBS 2021 will be held in the third quarter - we're shooting for some time in September -- and we’re considering other cities for the show. Dallas, TX is still in the running, but we are also considering Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; and Indianapolis, IN. Good news Thursday! Our friends at @tredbikes just launched the Phenom, their very first mountain bike model. The official launch of the Phenom was originally scheduled for #NAHBS original show dates in March, which was postponed to August. But they’re ready to roll this out now! Based on a proprietary cold worked method that allows for a radically shaped titanium profile -- without compromising Ti’s inherent properties -- the Phenom pushes the limits with regards to stiffness-to-weight-to-durability. We can always use some positivity and inspiration, and that’s true now more than ever. Luckily, the #NAHBS community is filled with so many people that inspire and motivate us. Chad Corbin, founder and builder of @CorvidCycles, is one of them. Chad was educated as an engineer, had a successful career writing code, picked up Masters and PhD degrees, and then after all of that…decided to finally do what he loved: build bikes. Chad founded Corvid Cycles in Boulder, Colorado in 2018. At last year’s NAHBS, Chad was a finalist in the New Builder Award category. March 2, 2023 To the NAHBS community, We're aware of the growing concern of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the public health risks as it continues to spread globally. Over the past few days, we've received inquiries from exhibitors wondering if NAHBS 2023 is going to be cancelled or postponed. As a global show that attracts exhibitors, media, and attendees from all parts of the world, this is a legitimate question and one that we're taking very seriously. We're actively evaluating news reports and discussing all options both internally and with our vendor partners. We plan to make an official announcement within 24-48 hours on whether we'll move forward with NAHBS March 20-22, 2023 or postpone to a later date this year, when hopefully this health crisis has subsided.
